Viking Knit

I'm learning a new for me jewelry style and I am in love with it! Viking Knit is awesome! It can be extremely delicate or heavy duty, and anywhere inbetween. It all depends on the look you're going for. Who would have thought you could make something so pretty with a dowel, whatever soft wire you want to use, and a piece of wood with holes drilled in it!.

So last night I got online and ordered wire! Sterling silver, copper, bronze, and stainless steel in 24 and 26 gauges to start out with. I can't wait to have it in hand! Here are couple of pieces done in single wire. The copper is completed and I have to finish the sterling silver. I need to work on my end caps!

And Oh BTW I'm having a sale in my Etsy shop for 16% off of everything listed. You can go to www.CopperHammerStudio.Etsy.com and use the coupon code SPRING2016. The offer expires April 30th, 2016.

New Yummy Beads

It's a chilly day here in Central Oregon. And that being said I also have a pot of chili going for this evening's dinner, yum! Uh...yeah...anyway, speaking of yum...I got some new beads in the other day and started playing with them yesterday. I love the colors of these beads, they're handmade by Michelle Bryant at TheSpacerBeadShop.etsy.com. I'll be buying more of her beads after the first of the year as they come in the perfect sizes for earrings! And the colors!  I just can't say enough about how much I love them. Here are a couple of photos to whet your appetite :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

My darling husband made me a new bench top! I haven't been up to use it much yet, but hopefully will be back at it soon. In the meantime you all have a wonderful, happy Thanksgiving!

Charm Necklace

Absolutely beautiful weather here in Central Oregon! Blue skies and cooler days, with a Fall nip to the air. I've been in and out of the studio, mostly out, but I have been drawing up new jewelry ideas and trying out some new things to get this business going. I learned something new on Tumblr and I already have a couple of new followers! Welcome!
Etsy has been messing with things again and it takes me a while to figure out what I'm doing, but the shop is up and running. I have also been looking at some other maker sites, Goodsmith for one.
Charm NecklaceI recently made a new necklace out of copper, brass and sterling silver. And I've made it so that you can 'build' it to suit you! I really like the concept and I enjoy making them as they won't all look alike :) These are just some of the options, I can always try and cut a piece to order if you have something specific in mind!

Woohoo!!!

I am so proud of myself! I finished up 11 jewelry projects that I had gotten frustrated with or had started and  just didn't finish. Tomorrow is photo day so I can get them listed.  Here's a preview of 3 pieces done today :)

Photo: Yay! Three finished projects!

Hammered Copper Cuff Bracelet

Brand new hammered copper bracelet made today. I hammered that baby out of reclaimed 6 gauge copper wire with a 2.5 pound mallet on a chunk of rail. Then I hammered it some more to texture it and then some more to shape and harden it! My bracelet mandrel has been getting a work out lately :) I have two more blanks finished but they are just going to have wait as my arm is getting sore from all the hammering, lol! I do love the way it turned out though.

I think I might just do some bending and wrapping later today. More hammering tomorrow :) Blessed Be.

Shop Overhaul

I've been spending the last couple of days taking pictures and writing descriptions of my new listings for Etsy. I'm very pleased with the overall results. I also retook photos of old listings and updated them, I even went so far as to revamp my Policies and finished my About page! Go take a look! It's CopperHammerStudio.etsy.com, I think you'll like what you see :)

Here are some of the new items! I love them :)
